Ava's 1st Birthday

I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday. The trip to the hospital on that cold winter morning (5 am to be exact) The labor pains and subtle screams from an all natural birth, and the very first time I laid eyes on her and got to hold her in my arms. A year ago I gave birth to most beautiful, sweetest, strong willed little being I know. She finds happiness in the simplest things and exudes a joy that puts can put a smile on my face no matter how my day is going.

For her first birthday I didn't have a big budget, but I still wanted to do something memorable for her, so that one day we could look back and soak it all in. Sometimes I wish I had a personal photographer on demand, but I've realized that because I am the one capturing these precious moments through my lens, it makes them even more special.
